While not required in every application, lamination is one of the most widely used techniques to not only protect printed work but also add that extra special finish to make your graphics stand out to passers-by. However, as useful as it may be, it does not come without its challenges. New developments across hardware and materials have made life easier for industry professionals but there are still several issues that crop up and cause headaches for those laminating work.

The Swedish-made coloured paper Kaskad from Lessebo Paper, a classic beloved for its high quality and versatility, is back in the Nordic market after a hiatus. It is now available as a stock item at Addbrand. The distributor Addbrand is reintroducing the Kaskad paper series in A4 format for distribution in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland. The paper is already in stock, initial deliveries have been dispatched, and the customer response has been overwhelmingly positive.
SCA will increase the price on NBSK pulp (Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft) in Europe by 50 USD per tonne. The new price will be effective February 1st. “We observe improvements in several global markets, while producer stocks are decreasing,” comments Henning Ellström, VP Sales and Marketing Pulp.

As part of its efforts to achieve its climate goal of net zero emissions of fossil greenhouse gases by 2040, Södra’s first electric truck is on the road. Part of a pilot project, the truck will be entirely dedicated to transporting fossil-free deliveries of pulp from Värö to port terminals in Gothenburg and Varberg. This month, some shipments of pulp from Värö will be delivered by electric truck as part of Södra's climate efforts to achieve net zero emissions of fossil greenhouse gases by 2040. This one truck is expected to save 48 tonnes of CO2 per year, compared with a diesel-powered truck.
Girls Who Print, the largest global network of women in the print and graphic communication industry, presented three awards during the online Girls Who Print Day Conference on November 7th.
